Project 1 - Extension
This project is creating an extension of ideas. It is based off of the story of how Isaac Newton was sitting under a tree and was hit in the head with an apple that fell. It was that apple that gave him the idea to think of a formula for gravity. In this project, apples are coming down from a hat. The problem is not that the hat is giving the person ideas, but that too many ideas can become too much to organize and carry. The gift of thought is then transferred into a burden from its surplus. The concept of weight in this piece is also very important. The more ideas that are piled on to the hat, the more heavy it becomes. This project claims that ideas and concepts are things that people usually wish they could easily have all the time, however, if that wish comes to its full extent, people will be uncomfortable with taking its burden.
Quick #4 - usage of the body
This knitted mask is meant to prevent the dirt and polution in the air from getting into the human lungs. In trying to protect the body, this mask also changes the way a person breaths when they wear it. When it is worn, the user has to breath faster and more deeply because the yarn is being used as a filter.

This wearable is made out of cloth and wire. Its purpose is to hide and conceal the human face; away from its intimidating surroundings. The problem that it conjures is that by trying to stow itself away, it has attracted more attention. People do not walk around with huge cloth and wire wearables on their heads these days, therefor it stands out more when worn in society. This piece creates the irony and symbolizes the difficulty with hiding and being noticed.
